Read, Write, Sing (3 limericks)

Read, read like you don’t know anything
And let the words you see teach something
Marvel at the foliage
Depicted in good language
Take stock of quiet in the morning
Write, write like there is no tomorrow
A dearth in words can give you sorrow
Breathe and take a step back
And spare yourself some flack
Your thoughts and feelings need space to flow
Sing, sing as if you are Aretha
At the center of the arena
As soon as the curtains part
And you hear the music start
Show the world why you are the diva
There’ll be days like this, Van Morrison said
When things look perfect there’s nothing to dread
Til you sit to write on Medium
And then you pay a high premium
For letting ideas escape your head
