Once a bundle of roaring energy

Garrulous, rowdy and always hungry

Is it me or is it age

That is prompting me to change

And hush a life to quiet and easy

People say money is not everything

But it is essential to the dreaming

Like sending children to school

Or paying for a yard pool

Or having the time to just do nothing

The audacity of the heart and mind

Feeds the soul if you are so inclined

For some, mountains may seem nuts

But not for those with the guts

And whose dreams are never so far behind

We shape our lives by the choices we make

Through treacherous paths we are forced to take

A surfeit of adventure

Paves the road to our future

Rise from your slumber, breathe and stay awake!
