Slow down, take it all in (photo courtesy of the author)

Maybe we just got it

All wrong

So used to days

That are busy and long

Maybe we just need

To pause

Not utter yes

To every cause

Maybe we just need

To rest

And work at our best

Maybe it is just our turn

To decompress

Remove ourselves

From the meaningless

Maybe we just move

Too fast

With no time

To reflect on the past

Maybe it’s a call

To slow down

And stop

Being man about town

Maybe this is not

Might this be

The real normal

Just forgotten

When besotten

By the least essential
